A GRADE PREMIERS: TOP PUB SILVER FOXES
It's been a few years in the making but it was worth the wait for the Top Pub Silver Foxes. who took the 2019 A Grade title last Thursday night against the high-flying Rec Blue, who had lost just once all year.
After finishing third in the regular season, the Foxes did it the hard way, winning two close elimination finals before taking out the big one by four matches to two.
The majority of the Foxes' team have been together for a decade and they finally got the monkey off their back with a win in the main event. Consisting of Richard Hall, Lester Murphy, Phil Coggins, Dennis Watson and Trevor Marchant, the match-up was in the balance at 2-2, but after Richard Hall narrowly won his singles, Dennis Watson closed it out with a stunning win over Colin Death. For the Foxes, the drought was over, and the celebrations begun.
