At last Thursday's social bowls Leon Downey emerged the winner on 25 points. The field was reduced on the day by the very unpleasant hot weather.

Chasing Leon, in second, was veteran Nev Thurtell and the consistent Leo Sorgsepp on 22. Third was also a tie between John Piper and John Dymock on 21.
We will play again next Thursday at 12.30pm on the green.

GOLF: Plenty of winners in November competition
Tom and Felicity Corcoran sponsored a Stableford competition for their trophy on November 9.
Rob Gorham won the trophy on a count back from Richard Hall with a handicap-worrying 41 points.
Ball comp winners were Tim Poplin and Greg Atkins, while Vince Leslie took home the solitary nearest to the pin prize.
On Saturday, November 16, golfers played in a par competition for Robert Dunwoodie's trophy.
Yet another handicap destroying performance was delivered to win the trophy and that was from Andrew McGrath, with a brilliant score of +8.
Rob Dunwoodie came runner up with a commendable +6, while ball comp winners Kate Crisp, Danny Cassells and Gary Sheppard all finshed with +2. Garry Sheppard also won the nearest to the pin prize on the third hole.
The Pat Dwyer and family sponsored T.K. Dwyer trophy was contested last Saturday, November 23, as a secret nine hole event.
Robert Styles' 34 strokes secured the trophy over ball comp winner Gary Sheppard with 39 shots on a count back from Vince Leslie.
For next Saturday, November 30, Boorowa Golf Club has scheduled a club trophy.
The annual green keepers' revenge will be held on Saturday, December 7, followed by the Golf Club Christmas party, beginning at 6pm.
