Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but a possible decision to remove speed camera warning signs, I feel, would be a positive step to reducing the number of fatal accidents on our roads.

Apparently speed accounts for 20 per cent of the fatalities on NSW roads.
Saving up to 50 or 60 lives a year is a priority, removal of these warning signs would achieve this.
Visible well marked police cars are a deterrent and the fact that you could be detected anywhere any time makes a lot of sense.

On the other side of the coin, there are those that say any such action to remove these signs is simply revenue raising.
If we all adhere to the speed limits, how much money would these speed cameras raise? Zilch! Zero!

Murphy, a furniture dealer from Dublin, decided to expand his store furniture line, so he went to Paris to see what he could find.
He visited some Paris manufacturers selecting lines he thought would sell back home.
To celebrate the new acquisitions, he decided to visit a small bistro and have a glass of wine.
He noticed that the bistro was quite crowded, and the other chair at his table was the only vacant seat in the house.
Before long, a very beautiful young Parisian girl came to his table, asked him something in French (which Murphy could not understand), so he motioned to the vacant chair inviting her to sit.
He tried to speak to her in English, but she could not understand.

After a couple of minutes of trying to communicate with her, he took a napkin and drew a picture of a wine glass and showed it to her. She nodded, so he ordered a glass of wine for her.
After sitting together for a while, he took another napkin and drew a picture of a plate with food on it, she nodded.
They left the bistro and found a quiet café that featured a small group playing romantic music.
They ordered dinner, after which he took another napkin and drew a picture of a couple dancing. She nodded, and they got up to dance.
They danced until the café closed and the band was packing up. Back at the table, the young lady took a napkin and drew a picture of a four poster bed.
To this day, Murphy has no idea how she figured out he was in the furniture business.

A new resident in a semi- rural area recently put in a request to the local council to remove the WOMBAT CROSSING sign on her road, giving the reason as being, "Too many wombats are being hit by cars out here. I don't think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore." Now this is fact, believe it or not.

The fires have been terrible. The reporting in all media has been comprehensive, but despite this intensive coverage, we really can't comprehend from afar the devastation experienced by those involved.
If you have the opportunity, please support any appeals you possibly can.
