In this regard, the Australia Day Committee will have a debriefing session Tuesday February 19, 6.30pm, Ex-Services Club.
Committee members are of course asked to attend, but any community member is invited to join them and put forward their ideas. I mean to say, it is your day after all, and criticism or new ideas can only improve where we go in the future.
The committee members and partners are invited to partake of dinner in Richy Didge Restaurant after the debrief. Community members are also welcome, simply RSVP to Janene Hurley 63851330 by Wednesday February 13.

Remember some thirty odd years ago Boorowa M&D Society put on Trial By Jury in the old Courthouse. Trial By Jury is returning, this time presented by Loosely Woven.
Other Gilbert and Sullivan gems are included and Boorowa M&D Choir will make a guest appearance. A jilted fiancée suing a rock star suggests this T by J may be a little different.
All happening in the old Boorowa Courthouse, 1pm, Sunday, March 31. Cost is $10, including afternoon tea. Tickets are available at Court House Arts & Crafts with all proceeds going to Boorowa M&D Society. For information contact Lorna Spackman on 0427 858 389 or 6385 3736.

Mentioning the M&D Society, the choir desperately needs some help. If you only sing in the shower but can hold a bit of a note, think about getting along and giving the choir a hand. Have a chat to Lorna Spackman for information.

The Boorowa Rugby Club are celebrating their 50th year this year with a big celebration planned for Saturday, May 25.
One can’t celebrate 50 years without some memorabilia. The Club is looking for old photographs, jerseys, whatever to bring back 50 years of memories.
Old copies of the Boorowa News are a great source of photos and articles. See what you’ve got at home and if you can help contact Jason on 0429 820 389 or Jo on 0422 524 936.

A Boing 777 jetliner was cruising along at 800km/hr at 33000 feet when a cocky F-16 fighter jet flashed by at Mach 2.
Showing of his state of the art radio communication system, the young pilot said to the 777 pilot, “Hey Captain, watch this.”
He promptly went into a barrel roll, followed by a vertical climb, finishing with a sonic boom breaking the sound barrier as the F-16 screamed down at impossible G’s levelling off at almost sea level.. The F-16 pilot asked the 777 Captain, “What did you think of that?”
The 777 Captain said, “That was truly impressive, but watch this.”
The 777 chugged along at 800km/hr for 5 minutes until the Captain came back on and said, “What did you think of that?”
Puzzled, the cocky F-16 pilot asked, “What the heck did you do?”
The 777 Captain chuckled and said, “I stood up, stretched my legs, walked to the back, used the toilet, then got a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll and booked three nights in a five star hotel paid for by the company.”
On our roads we see too many mostly young drivers like the F-16 youngster.
There is a lesson from this story. When young and foolish, speed and flash may seem good. When older, and smarter, comfort, dullness, safety is not such a bad thing… it’s called S.O.S Slower – Older – Smarter.
