
The results are in and there are a number of new faces on Hilltops Council following the final tally of votes on Monday afternoon.
There were no changes to positions following the distribution and, as a result, the 11 councillors are:

- Brian Ingram
- John Piper
- Jo Mackay
- Tony Flanery
- Mary Dodd
- Tony Hewson
- Greg Armstrong
- Patrick FitzGerald
Greg Armstrong, Tony Hewson and Patrick FitzGerald were all elected after the distribution of preferences despite not reaching the vote quota of 919.
Councillors John Piper, Margaret Roles, Matthew Stadtmiller, Alison Foreman and Brian Ingram were elected on the first count of preferences.
Cr Joanne Mackay was elected on the second count with preference votes distributed from Alison Foreman.
Crs Tony Flanery and Mary Dodd were elected on the third count with the distribution of preferences from Margaret Roles.
Crs Tony Hewson, Greg Armstrong and Patrick FitzGerald were elected on the tenth count after the distribution of preferences from Matthew Stadtmiller, Brian Ingram, John Piper, Joanne Mackay, Mary Dodd and Tony Flanery.
In round 10 of counting John Niven's preferences were excluded before Crs Tony Hewson, Greg Armstrong and Patrick FitzGerald were elected.
The margin between Tony Hewson and the last un-elected/excluded candidate John Horton was 21 votes.
The new councillors will be inducted into their new roles at the next meeting of Hilltops Council, which will be live streamed at www.hilltops.nsw.gov.au
Of the 14,321 residents enrolled to vote in the Hilltops local government area, only 11,809 ballots were counted or a 82.46 per cent turnout.
Of the 11,809 ballots, 11,021 were formal and 788 were informal, making the informal rate 6.67 per cent.
