It's quite amazing how misinformation can circulate in a community, and Boorowa is no exception.

As to what state electorate we're in and what constitutes a valid vote in the upcoming local government elections, the town was split roughly 50/50.
It's not that easy to find the correct answer, with plenty of information on the computer links, but not specific to your question.
I discussed the state electorate issue with Richard Spence on 2LF and he put Steph Cooke on the spot last week.
Steph put it straight, Boorowa is in the Goulburn electorate until the next etate election on March 25, 2023.
We move into the Cootamundra electorate from that date on.
As to how we must vote in the local government election December 4, voting is compulsory, with 13 candidates running with 11 to be elected.
Voters can vote 1 to 6 in order of preference, or, if they choose, 1 to 13 again in order of preference.
Personally, I am going to vote 1 to 13 because I dearly want to put 13 next to one particular candidate.

Australia, a country where you can speak your mind, openly demonstrate without fear of being marched off and shot or incarcerated for long periods of time.
We have grown in a culture of respect and caring for your fellow citizens.
Times appear to have changed.
What happened to the times when protests were peaceful?
There was once a time it was news if someone chained themselves to a tree or gate to some industrial site.
What is happening in our society when protesters carry effigies of a hung politician, or threaten to shoot politicians, or worse, their families?
The protests against COVID restrictions has seen a growing rise in deadly threat, and now critics of the protesters face the same threat.
Protesters, as we see them today, are nothing but anarchists, threatening, in reality, our very way of life.
The law must look at this growth of violent demonstration and do all in its powers to bring the perpetrators before the courts.
Got a gripe, protest as is your right, but keep your actions legal, respecting the rights of all.

Nomination forms for our annual sports awards, as are presented on Australia Day are now available.
Some sporting organisations have received forms, but hopefully all sporting organisations get involved and nominate your sporting champions, team or club person for due recognition on Australia Day.
I hope to contact a representative of every sport, and would appreciate clubs or individuals contacting myself on 0428 853 348.
Don't forget to nominate the people in our community doing wonderful things making our town great.
Citizens that truly deserve recognition - Citizen of the Year, Young Achiever or our Australia Day awards, contact me and we will get those nominations to the right organisation for consideration.

An older gentleman was on the operating table awaiting surgery and he insisted that his son, a renowned surgeon, perform the operation.
As he was about to get the anaesthesia, he asked to speak to his son.
"Yes, Dad, what is it?"
"Don't be nervous son, do your best and just remember, if it doesn't go well, if something happens to me, your mother is going to come and live with you and your wife."
