From the Ancient Egyptians and Greeks to philosophers, mathematicians and all sorts in between, 10 is a significant number.
And so it is in the US and the UK right now.
At the most recent count there are 10 people who came into contact with US President Donald Trump who have tested positive to COVID-19. That ranges from the First Lady, Melania Trump, to two senators who attended a White House event last Saturday and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who now is advising Mr Trump's campaign.
Mr Trump attended several large gatherings in the past week, including the first presidential debate in Cleveland and rallies in Pennsylvania and Minnesota. You can check out the timeline of his movements here.
There are, of course, many people who met with the president who have since tested negative. Not doubt their health status will be monitored closely.
Meanwhile in the UK, the 10 of most significance this weekend unfortunately had three zeros after it.
The BBC reports that the UK has announced more than 10,000 new coronavirus cases for the first time since mass testing began.
There were 12,872 new cases, while a further 49 people have died within 28 days of testing positive for COVID-19. While the government has claimed technical glitches have impacted stats, the issue remains the same: numbers are going north not south.
On Saturday tighter restrictions came into force in parts of northern England after a spike in coronavirus cases.
On our big island, Victoria recorded 12 new cases and one death in the 24 hours to Sunday morning while NSW officials delighted at recording the ninth-straight day of no community transmission, remain watchful of beaches and traditional holiday centres during the second week of school holidays.
