Harriet Miles and Sophie Webster, from Year 5, wrote a letter requesting a new Australian flag for the School, as they noticed the flag in use had become quite worn.
They were very excited to receive a notice from Mr Taylor and a new flag to fly at our school.
They also enjoyed meeting and greeting Mr Taylor when he visited to thank him for the flag as part of a flag ceremony led by school captains Noah Coble and Mylee Taylor.
Mr Taylor then enjoyed a cup of coffee and cake before viewing the School's newly resurfaced playing areas.
Last Year the St Joseph's Boorowa applied to the Local Schools Community Fund to upgrade the playing surface areas of the School's concrete playing areas.
The application was successful, and the School received $12,500 from the fund to go towards the concrete playing areas resurfacing project.
Along with a $20,000 contribution from the School's Community Council (P&F), the school was able to resurface a new Hotshot tennis court, a mini basketball court, four handball courts and paint a Snakes and Ladders game area with the combined funds.
Mr Taylor enjoyed seeing the new areas and even participated in a handball game or two with the students.
The School staff, students and Community Council would like to thank Mr Taylor for his support and commitment to St Joseph's School Boorowa.
We are very grateful.
