The pair were announced as the winners on Saturday at the Boorowa Show.
Mr Nixon thanked everyone involved in the competition, noting the affects of the drought on producers.
"Bit of a surprise actually, a bit sort of numb by it all," he said.
"It's been a tough year for everyone, I think that everyone that put their sheep in deserves a pat on the back and a hand for actually going to the effort of doing that."

Mr Nixon also announced that their flock will not go onto the Regional Southern Tablelands Competition this year.
"Our sheep will not be going forward in the Southern Tablelands because we had a handful of four tooths on the day of judging," he said.
Second placegetter Bill Hurley will now move onto the next stage of the competition on March 20.
Third place went to Clearview Partnership, fourth went to D and F McGrath, Clearview South while Dymock Agriculture placed fifth.
