The Boorowa Crocs will move on to contest the A Grade semi-finals but for the Gators it was the end of the road.
Boorowa won the toss and batted amassing a reasonable score of 9/154 in their forty overs.
Opener Brendon Shean was again the glue that held the innings together top scoring with 45 and batting deep into the innings.
Josh Carmody scored 25 whilst James Green chipped in with 28 against a handy Dalton attack that didn't really allow Boorowa to dominate.
In reply, Dalton made light work of the Boorowa total reaching the target with just two wickets down and more than 10 overs to spare.
It was a convincing victory by Dalton who simply outplayed Boorowa who weren't that bad on the day.
The Boorowa bowers toiled hard with the only wicket takers being Josh Carmody and Jacob Piper with one scalp each.
Meanwhile, in a remarkable game at Boorowa the Gators almost pulled off an unthinkable win.
Binalong, who are the competition front runners, won the toss and elected to bat in ideal conditions.
Boorowa had the visitors in trouble early but couldn't capitalize with several spilled chances.
In reply, Boorowa began its innings in what can only be described as diabolic fashion.
In the space of the first two overs they crashed to lose 3/1.
Even worse was to follow as Binalong held onto some good catches to have Boorowa at 5/6 in the space of five overs.
Boorowa looked to be heading to its all-time lowest total until Brad Rose was joined at the crease by young gun Joe Prosper.
They battled hard and put on a half century stand to at least get to 6/56 before losing Joe for a hard fought 14.
They lost Cameron Johnston to be 7/62 but by now Brad was really in the groove and began to hit the ball to all parts of the Rec Ground.
Brad found another ally in Shane Cross who made a well compiled 27 in an eighth wicket stand of 79.
At 8/141 and requiring 119 from the last ten overs Brad and Tom McGuinness weren't about to die wondering adding a ninth wicket stand of 61.
After reaching a magnificent century, Rose was out for 117 as he attempted to push the run rate.
At 9/202 with five overs left Tom McGuiness supported by Stuart Gay continued to throw the bat before Tom was dismissed for a fine 41 to see the team all out for 221 in the 37th over.
The highlight of the innings was the century by Brad Rose who played some classic strokes including some classy cover drives.
After being in a hopeless position at 5/6 it just goes to show that the game is never over until the last wicket falls.
Had the top order been a little more productive the Gators may have knocked over the minor premiers.
So, whilst the Gators look towards footy season, the Crocs have some unfinished business to complete when they head towards the major semifinal.
In a strange twist, the minor semi-final will be a replay of last week's game between Dalton and Boorowa.
The match will be held at O'Connor Park in Yass commencing at 12.30pm.
The sides have met twice this year with both teams winning at home.
Being on a neutral oval will take way any home advantage in this game could go either way.
Boorowa will rely on its bowlers to get the job done, however if they do bat first, they will need to post a handy total to get the win.
Dalton will be confident of last Saturday's win and go into the game with the momentum.
This could be the match of the finals.
The winner will advance to a preliminary final against the loser of the Yass Cobras and Bowning.
The Cobras will start favorites, but anything can happen on the Victoria Park Turf.
If you feel like a Saturday afternoon drive and want to see the very best of local cricket, why not make the trek to O'Connor Park in Yass and support the Crocs.
Play starts at 12.30pm sharp and it should be a cracker.
See you at the cricket.
