Works include culvert widening, drainage and pavement upgrades which will result in the road being sealed equipped for heavy vehicles, a reduction in dust and improved safety and productivity.
"These much needed upgrades to improve safety and increase heavy vehicle productivity will be of great benefit to the community and I thank the NSW Government for their support to deliver these improvements," Hilltops Mayor Brian Ingram said.
Drainage work will commence Tuesday, January 28, 2020 and will be completed prior to June 30, 2020.
The work site will run from the intersection of Bennett Springs Road along Battery Road for 4.8km.
Traffic control will be in place however the road will remain open to traffic throughout the works.
Council are proud to announce that all funding received for this project is being spent locally.
