The Balladeers programme will get underway at 4pm, and as usual the programme promises plenty of rhythm, satire and humour.
This programme has been a part of Australia Day in Boorowa for over twenty years and the return appearance of many personalities each year is eagerly awaited.
However, newcomers are always welcome and original ballads are especially valued.
One of the most popular of the local Balladeers, Robert Corkhill, is, sadly, no longer with us, but his humourous, incisive, quirky thoughts are enshrined in a new book, now available at Carmody's Newsagency.
Entitled 'Apples Will Grow Again,' it celebrates Robert's love of poetry and his great gift for bush verse which he shared, not only with his family, but with the whole community through his appearance among the Balladeers.
The book is a great tribute to Robert and his wonderful gifts, with his poems preserved for posterity in the pages of the elegantly produced volume.
Robert, and the many other performers who have passed on, will be remembered on Australia Day, as many old favourites and promising newcomers go through their paces in the Boorowa Balladeers of 2020.
