Boorowa Central School's Stewart Blomfield has been recognised for his ongoing commitment and hard work in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) field through a NSW Premier's Teachers scholarship.

Mr Blomfield has been awarded the 2020 'Premier's Vocational Education in Schools Scholarship' sponsored by the NSW Government.
This scholarship is one of only twenty awarded at this year's ceremony held at Parliament House, Sydney.
Mr Blomfield was supported by his wife Kim and the acting Principal Graham Jones when receiving his scholarship from the Premier of NSW, Gladys Berejiklian and the NSW Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning, Sarah Mitchell.
This scholarship will allow Mr Blomfield to travel to the rural mid-west of the United States of America to study the issues of rural isolation, lack of transport, lack of work placement providers and student mental health associated with the delivery of VET.
His study tour will include visits to high schools, community colleges, technical schools and universities across the states of Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas focussing on VET delivery.
It will also include meetings with teachers, students and Department of Education officials.
Particular focus will be made on Kansas' simulated workplace learning system that has been implemented.
Mr Blomfield hopes that the information gained during his study tour can be used to support the teachers and students delivering and studying VET in rural NSW schools.
