Under 16s
Finishing the year off with a 33-0 demolition job of Crookwell that will hold them in good stead for this week's finals, the Under 16s will head over to Canberra to take on the Queanbeyan Blues in Raiders Canberra (Holt).
While the Bush Hawks will be keen to put their best foot forward this week, they have every reason to approach the game with confidence, having earlier beaten the Blues 32-4 away from home.
Nevertheless, the Blues will have confidence in their own brand of footy, after narrowly beating the Tuggeranong Bushrangers at Seiffert Oval 22-16.
A Friday night fixture (7.15pm) in the nation's capital that will deliver a light winds and a less severe chill factor than that experienced in the weeks prior, there should be several locals making the trip over to support the young players in what promises to be an exciting night of footy.
League Tag
The League Tag side produced one of the upsets of the year on the weekend, beating the North Canberra Bears 26-22, to go one step further in their quest for a finals berth.
Mackella Pye was instrumental in the victory, scoring four tries, while Kiara Shean and Larissa Corcoran each added a try in the narrow win.
While the Roverettes outscored the Bears six tries to four, it was hardly one way traffic, with the home side only managing one from six conversions, whereas the Bears' Amie Dekantios converted three from your, helping to keep them in touch with the Roverettes, ensuring the end margin was close.
The Roverettes' will need a lot to go their way this weekend to make finals - they take on the league-leading Harden Hawkettes in a must win game, but will also need the team above them in fifth spot, UC Grizzlies, to lose to the second-placed Crookwell She-Devils - there is no reason to suggest they couldn't pull it off.
Men's League
Meanwhile, the men's Rovers are smarting after a 22-0 loss to the league leading Bears, and will head into Saturday's match against the third placed Harden Hawks with zero margin for error.
The fifth placed Binalong Brahmans drew level with the Rovers on points after thrashing the UC Grizzlies, while the sixth placed Crookwell Green Devils also won their game and sit only two points adrift.
While the injury-ravaged home team would be loath to use it as an excuse, they were never quite able to get their A-game going against an in-form North Canberra that arrived in Boorowa ready to play.
Number three Jacob Bink scored two tries to lead the way for the visitors, while Dale Vickers, Matthew Burnham and full-back Christopher Thorley all contributed tries, though Thorley would've rued his accuracy, only hitting one from four conversion attempts.
For the Rovers, rebounding this Saturday isn't just something that is desired, it is absolutely needed.
The maths are pretty simple: Lose, and there is a strong possibility that either or both Binalong and Crookwell will jump over the Rovers into the last remaining final spots.
Win and everything will take care of itself.
While they were unable to dispense of the Hawks earlier in the year at home, it is obvious that the Rovers would love nothing more than to outwit one of their possible finals rivals on their home deck.
Saturday's matches kick off from 2.15pm at McLean Oval, with the Roverettes doing battle with the Hawkettes in League Tag, while the men will go head-to-head from 3.30pm.
