Ken Wyatt is a proud Noungar man and a member of the Stolen Generation, and, significantly, the first Aboriginal person appointed to Cabinet since Federation.
Australia's push to achieve complete reconciliation has progressed but the path has contained many pitfalls. Ken Wyatt, in a talk, used the topic 'Walking in Partnership to Effect Change'.
Australia, in a few year's time, will have a referendum to pursue a constitution that fully encompasses what, as yet, hasn't been fully achieved regarding indigenous acceptance and rights.
I watched Ahn's Brush With Fame last week. He interviewed Archie Roach, he too was a member of the Stolen Generation.

Anh brought out Archie's emotional story from struggling Aboriginal 'drunk' to our greatest Indigenous award winning singer/songwriter.
Ken Wyatt knows what's been and needs to plot the way forward, his wording of the referendum must be perfect in its detail and fully understood by all Australians.
We must come together for a better future and learn from the past.
In 2007 then PM John Howard, speaking about this path to reconciliation said, "The Australian People want to move ... towards a new settlement of this issue, but reconciliation can't be a 51-49 project, or even 70-30 project. We need as a nation to lock into a path we can all agree on."
Archie Roach learnt from his mistakes to become what he is today.
Ken Wyatt has history on his side to aid him in understanding past mistakes and set us on the right path.

Am I overhearing things, or is it a fact, that many here can't get 2LF on their radio.
Many times it's said to me, "I didn't know such and such was on."
You tell them it was mentioned on 2LF and they tell me they can't get 2LF.
A fellow told me a couple of weeks ago he loved listening to 2LF and now can't get reception at all.
Cootamundra, Temora, Grenfell and Cowra all have an FM relay transmitting 2LF.
Boorowa and Harden don't have such a relay.
I sincerely would like anyone who is in the 'Can't Get 2LF Basket' to let me know. I can ask relevant questions, if I've got the relevant information. This includes people in the eastern part of the old Boorowa Shire who have always had a problem.
Give me a call 0428 853 348 or email to avondalepark2@gmail.com.

Much has been said of late about the lack of respect many of our younger generation seem to have. Teenage boys and, yes, girls assaulting police officers, ambulance officers, teachers and the such. It is alarming to see the vandalism, crime, anti-social behavior, etc continually brought to our attention.
How often have you heard people of my ilk say, "It wouldn't have happened in my day." We are of a different generation and were taught to respect our elders, authority and property. Is our younger generation leading us in to anarchy?

Did you know? In Japanese schools , students don't get any exams until they reach fourth grade. Why? It is because the goal for the first three years of school is not to judge the student's ability to memorize, but to establish good manners and to develop their character. Japanese schools teach manners first and foremost.
We seem to be too often falling down when it comes to rearing our young. Maybe we should adopt ideas from the Japanese system.
