It was always going to be a tough game against the reigning champions, especially with a few key outs.
However, the Goldies started really strongly. The forwards to every last man had a huge game, they kept the ball in tight and carried forward all evening.
I think it's fair to say that the Goldies had their best game of the season to date.
With Tommy Simson back and tackling everything that moved the defence was really strong. Marty Party Corcoran carried really well and strongly while Mark Poplin also had an outstanding evening at full back.
Actually Poppy, if you read this could you give me a call?
At one stage the Goldies led 24-14 in the second half, but Harden simply had too much class in the back line, running in two late second half tries to win 34-24.
A huge thank you to the Red Devils, who put on a great afternoon for their Ladies Day, and a huge shout out to all the Boorowa supporters who travelled.
I'm not really sure who got what but points were shared amongst three players. Marty got something, Tommy S got something and Brenden Best McGrath got something.
Finally, after nearly a full season, last Saturday saw the return of DDM (Double Demin Mully). Now most of the readers know that Mully got a few mentions last year for his awesome dress sense and rightly so but until last Saturday we hadn't heard or seen DDM.
Rumours are strong that DDM will be out in full flight this Saturday for the ladies. Get there ladies, you DO NOT want to miss it.
This Saturday, the Goldies take on Temora which will be the last home game of the regular season.
It is also Ladies Day so make sure you get there to cheer on the boys and buy a drink for the ladies.
