The unusually calm Boorowa weather saw some fine scores recorded over all the grades. New shooter Adam Reid shone in C grade for the first event with a very respectable 47/50 easily taking out his grade.
With performances like this it is only a matter of time before the handicappers will have him up in B grade.
B Grade was hotly contested with Sharon McDonald and local Jenny Twarloh fighting it out for the win with Sharon McDonald coming in first after a shoot off.
The A grades went hard at it in the first event, with some great scores, regular Don McMillan skinned the event with a 49/50. This left Ed Cummings and Matt Harris to shoot off for second place with Matt taking the second place honours.
The AA grade shooters had the scorers very busy with no less than 7 shooters scoring a perfect 50/50. Fred Twarloh, Matt Gerstenberg, Bryce Hallam, Joe Mooney, Tony Barton, Glenn Barton and Grady Evans all shot the possible and had to go into a shoot off.
Glenn Barton shot a further 68/68 to take the win and Grady Evans came second.
The second and third events also posted some excellent scores, but the standout competitor for the day was Fred Twarloh winning the overall High Gun after shooting a perfect 150/150 for the day.
Fred didnt do it easy though as both Grady Evans and Matt Gerstenberg also shot 150/150. The three had to go in a shoot off for the overall High Gun for the day, with Fred coming out on top.
The Veterans High Gun was won by Jeff Nash with a 148/150 for the day. The ladies High Gun was won by Sharon McDonald with a 143/150 and the Junior High Gun was won by Blake Gruber with a 141/150.
Great food was available throughout the day including Bacon and egg rolls, BBQ lunch and afternoon tea. Sandra Murphy looking after everyone so well that no one went hungry.
Club President Geoff Mason cooked up a storm on the BBQ he also found time to post some pretty respectable scores on the board.
