The last two weekends have been busy for Boorowa gymnasts with almost all members participating in competitions.
On Saturday, December 1, twelve gymnasts competed at a Recreational Competition at the Boorowa Club.
The competition consisted of 11 skills over four age divisions performed on a variety of apparatus and highlighted the gymnasts’ developing skills.
Our competitors were Annabelle Smith, Ruby Lucas, Anika and William Li, Matilda Cox, Halle and Phoebe Brown, Daisy Manges, Bonnie Bromham, Macey Harris, Destiny Hardefeldt and Edie Shea.
On Saturday, December 8, 25 gymnasts travelled to Yass to compete in the annual inter-club Team and Sports Acrobatic competitions. Team Gym consists of a floor routine, trampoline skills and tumbling runs in three divisions.
The floor routine must include elements of dance and gymnastic skills including leaps or jumps, as well as individual and group balances.
The team included Belle Riles, Emma Craig, Carrie Smith, Avril Robertson, Mickaya Zagar, Finley Shore and Elle McIntosh. The team performed in the Novice division and was placed first.
Sports Acrobatics consists of two series of eight skills, (balance and dynamic) at three levels, performed on the floor with pairs or trios.
Our Level 2 Trio competitors were Katlyn Edwards, Bea Lucas and Emily Dickson were placed second.
Our Level 2 pairs were Emma Craig and Poppy Lucas who were placed first, Tilly Bowman and Molly Kelly second, Elle McIntosh and Poppy Lucas, Carrie Smith and Emerson Mann-Rea and Emme Kelly and Bea Lucas.
Level 1 competitors were Katlyn Shean and Finlay Shore first, Belle Riles and Avril Robertson, Banjo Crazier and Preston Harris third, Jessica Kelly and Emily Dickson, Lachlan and William Li, Delilah Cross and Mickaya Zagar, Shadae Zagar, Anika Li, Sebastian Zagar and Kai Blom.
The gymnasts are now finalising items for the end of year display on Saturday, December 15 commencing at 11.30am and hope to see friends and family there.
