The well attended fundraising lunch made a profit of over $2600 which will be used for refurbishment of the Nurses Home.
This building was opened in 1927 and was untouched by the fire at the hospital a number of years ago.
The Nurse’s Home is currently the accommodation used for Agency Nurses and the hospital relies on these nurses to keep the hospital running.
In its current condition, the accommodation is not up to today’s standards.
It should be enough to attract nurses to work in our hospital.
It was a great day to catch up and enjoy the company with plenty of sweeps and prizes drawn throughout the day.
Winners for the best outfits on the day being Helen Audsley and Fiona Gorham.
The raffle winner was Chris Hall.
The lucky door prize was won by Fay Gruber and the lucky seat prize was won by Janet Marchant.
Jennifer Hall won Best Vintage outfit on the day.
