The special period of reflection and prayer is scheduled to begin at 6pm.
The organisers are conscious of the need for change, and the transforming of the focus away from the violence and destruction obvious in the world, to constructive change.
The achievement of peace is very much worth the time and effort expended.
Education and awareness are valuable tools with which to achieve the goal, and in this world of mass communication it is necessary to differentiate between misinformation and objective and accurate material.
The path to peace requires acknowledgement of the needs of others, as well as our own, and this could mean the building of a peaceful future for the next generation.
The human family has an opportunity to secure the true peace which flows from the union of justice and mercy.
Those who seek peace will be praying that our leaders will be more enlightened, so that they may guarantee and defend the great gift of peace.
All local people, irrespective of their religious affiliation, will be welcome to join together in this local expression of a desire for a peaceful world.
