NSW Police rural crime officers conduct operations across region

RURAL crime offences have been the target of NSW Police officers across the Orana Mid-Western and Central West Police districts.

Rural Crime Prevention Team investigators have been conducting proactive hunting operations and officers say the results have been pleasing with compliant hunters.

Police patrolled and conducted vehicle stops in locations including: Narromine, Trangie, Nevertire, Gin Gin, Collie, Warren, Bylong and Wollar.

Officers also inspected a number of firearms after a vehicle stop between Warren and Nevertire.

“The two hunters had just returned from a successful hunting trip on an arranged property near Carinda, with permission,” a Facebook post by the Rural Crime NSW Police Force page stages.

“This is an example of hunters doing the right thing and everyone was happy.

“The property owners were happy to have people controlling pests, the hunters were happy to be checked by police and police were happy to interact with people doing the right thing.”

The police post said the interactions were “very pleasing” with hunters who were doing the right thing.
