The Hilltops Choir’s soloist for the afternoon is our very own talented soprano Julie O’Connor.
Born in Young, Julie now lives with her husband Peter on a farm just outside Harden.
How lucky are we.
She has performed many lead roles in local musicals, and sings regularly with four-part harmony group Counterpoint.
Julie has extensively shared her talent at various community and charity events.
She recently gave a wonderful lunchtime concert at the Young Town Library.
Julie has sung as soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Canberra Concert Orchestra and also played the role of Despina in Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte.
Over the past few years Julie has had many soloist roles accompanied by professional orchestras at Mayfair Gardens Oberon, and in Melbourne, Ballarat, Townsville and most recently Geelong.
The Hilltops Choir of forty plus voices, soprano Julie O’Connor, conductor extraordinaire Rodney Clancy from Canberra and the very experienced accompanist Stewart Bruce will perform excerpts from Handel’s Messiah amongst other religious repertoire.
Come along and enjoy.
The concert starts at 3pm with a generous afternoon tea provided at the conclusion.
This is a great musical treat for a gold coin donation.
