Led by Reverend Geoffrey McAullife the congregation solemnly joined in the service and bared witness to the blessing of the ceremonial plaque.
“In 1866 the villagers of Marengo gathered together, raised funds and had Christ Church, Murringo built and consecrated,” Murringo resident Carol Hewson said.
“We have witnessed the 100th celebrations in 1966, the 125 years in 1981.”
And now the residents of the village have seen 150 years of the church standing in the community.
The villagers and the Murringo Public School worked tirelessly to orchestrate the event and celebrations of the historic building.
