George Elliot, “Balgalal” Binalong was a guest speaker at the meeting of Feral Fighters group coordinators from the Boorowa district.
George spoke about the advantages of group fox baiting and the methods which he uses to communicate and encourage participants in the group that he coordinates.
Following on from the strong participation of the autumn program there was unanimous support to maintain the traditional spring program.
The meeting decided that the spring Feral Fighters group fox bait for the Boorowa district will be held on July 18 and 19.
Contact your local Feral Fighters coordinators to arrange your bait order.
If you are unsure of who that may be, call the South East Local Land Services number below and we’ll put you in touch with your local coordinator.
For those who haven’t joined the Feral Fighters program or who need to refresh their training South East Local Land Services will be holding training courses which will certify land managers to use 1080, Pindone and a new product para-amino propiophenone commonly known as PAPP.
A separate course will also be run on the new 1080 ejectors.
These ejectors can be quite beneficial in a variety of ways, allowing land managers to set the device in areas where there is constant fox activity.
Generally all these courses run for 2-3 hours.
The dates and times for these short courses are as follows:
- Thursday 13 July 10am (1080, Pindone and PAPP)
- Thursday 13 July 1pm (1080 ejector course)
- Thursday 13 July 6pm (1080, Pindone and PAPP)
Further details to follow.
