Nikita passed two auditions with acting company Premiere before being asked to audition in America in December.
Her mother, Margaret Hayes, says while Nikita has not done any acting jobs before, she proved herself to the judging panel.
“Nikita hasn't actually done any professional acting before, shes been in her school productions,” Margaret said.
“We thought we would put her name down for the auditions in Sydney because she loves being in front of the camera and has a very outgoing personality.”
Margaret said the opportunity came by chance when she was looking on social media.
“An ad popped up on my Facebook page saying that they (Premiere) were coming to Sydney and all I had to do was sign her up,” she said.
“Once we got to Sydney, Nikita got given a script, which she had half an hour to learn, then she, along with about 30 others, went into a room and did their audition.”
Nikita was then invited back for a second audition with the company.
“When she passed the second audition, we then signed up for Premiere," Margaret said.
Margaret says Nikita is excited for the opportunity she has been given.
“When she gets to America, she will be doing six showcases, which means she will be doing the following six performances: TV commercial, Comedic monologue, One liners, Soap opera scene, Sitcom scene and Dramatic monologue,” Margaret said.
“She will also be required to walk the runway in front of industry professionals.”
From now until December, Nikita will be having practice sessions with an acting coach through Skype.
“Nikita is super excited to be going to America, she's a little bit nervous,” Margaret said.
“I think once she gets over there, the nerves will set in, I just hope she will be able to overcome them.”
