Last weekend saw a tremendous pre-season bowls night held at the Ex-Services club with almost 100 people making the most of the beautiful conditions to roll a few down.
It was brilliant to see so much support for the Rovers and Roverettes who mingled with supporters long into the evening.
The ages ranged from 5 to 85 and a few of the more experienced bowlers were only to pleased to lend a hand.
A big thank you to Mick O’Dea and Nev Thurtell among others who with their years of experience were awesome in giving the novices some great tips.
These two blokes are Bowling legends.
It appears that a future star or two may have been unearthered as well.
This Saturday sees both teams itching to take to the field.
The Roverettes will kick off proceedings at 5pm with three 15 minute periods to be played.
Then at 6pm, the Rovers take to the park for four 15 minute periods.
With warm weather predicted, this will certainly ascertain how fit the teams are.
Both teams have been working hard in the best preseason seen for several seasons.
So if you feel like a drive on Saturday, Grenfell footy ground is the place to be for some great league action.
This is the start of a massive season for your Boorowa Rovers so get on board.
Earlier this week a general meeting was held now that the draw has been released and further details of the coming season will be forthcoming in this column.
See you at the footy.
