This was a do or die clash for both sides as a win would likely result in a place in the finals whilst a loss would likely result in an early exit from the competition.
Unfortunately, it was Crookwell that got the chocolates on the day winning 13 - 7.
Boorowa were slow out of the blocks as they let in a easy try within the first five minutes of the match.
From this point on Boorowa's defence transformed into a rock wall.
Crookwell had a large percentage of the possession however where unable to transfer this possession into points.
Boorowa even managed to hold Crookwell up over the line on more than one occasion. This was testament to their commitment to each other.
Unfortunately Boorowa's mounting tackle count led to injuries to backs Lawrence Keyworth (fractured cheek) and Brad Rose (shoulder).
As a result player manager Duncan McGrath was required to utilise the bench earlier than anticipated.
Despite being under relentless pressure and suffering several injuries the score at half time was 7 - 0 and the game was still in the balance.
Coach Marty Corcoran was very optimistic at half time. He suggested that if we could just get our share of the ball the points would come.
Half time started with a bang. Boorowa began to get more possession and then began creating several chances. Especially out wide where it appeared they had a little more pace than the Crookwell backs.
Eventually, Mark Poplin chimed into a neat back line move and pierced through a gap in Crookwell’s defence.
He then put a chip kick over the fullbacks head and won the foot race to the ball to score Boorowa's first and only try. James Green converted the try to level the scores at 7 - 7.
Unfortunately a couple of indiscretions towards the end of the match allowed Crookwell to kick two penalty goals which won them the game 13 - 7.
Points were as follows; Dan Carey 3 points; Marty Corcoran 2 points; Vinnie Ryan 1 point.
Boorowa plays Taralga at home on the weekend. Get along and cheer them on.
