It was wonderful to see so many people return to Frogmore that had attachments to the district in many different ways, some not being back for many years.
The committee was thrilled and honoured when Max Holmes, now 92, accepted our invitation to unveil the plaque.
Although now living in Young, Max spent most of his life farming at Altondale, Frogmore.
He had quite a distinguished career when he enlisted for WWII with the Bomber Command Unit and was recognised to be included with the Veteran Allied Forces 70 year reunion in London last year.
Unfortunately ill health prevented him from attending at the time.
Max was thrilled to be asked to come back to his beloved Frogmore and was pleasantly surprised when his daughter, Pauline, arrived unexpectedly from Sydney, to be with him.
After the unveiling everyone proceeded to the hall for afternoon tea and to view the Honour Roll.
