The eager crowd gathered around the club house as the humidity rose, the banter pitching then cascading in peals of laughter, waiting for the gate to be unlocked.
Like bees to sunflowers heavily laden with pollen, the enthusiastic tennis fans swarmed through the open gates wasting no time to hit the first ball.
Hit they were, balls flew in all directions even on to foreheads and bottocks. It is not always about winning, how you play the game matters.
A willingness to give and take with respect for each other helps make the evening a great social outing. Next week will be the last Monday night of this 'session.'
