About 100 guests were welcomed into a very well dressed pavilion, which set the mood for an evening of fun, frivolity and some fancy footwork on the dance floor. Mouth watering cocktail style food was enjoyed during the evenings formalities, where Club awards were announced. These included the Roger Birtles Memorial Trophy (Coaches Award) which was taken out by Allan Munns, and the Most Improved Award which was won by Trent Crawford. The Patrick Carmody Memorial Trophy for the Best Back went to Brendon Shean and the Player's Player award was won by Dane Rowley. The Brad Dewar Memorial Award for the Best Forward was split between George Evans and Mathew Batt. The prestigious Rohan Gorham Memorial Trophy for Best and Fairest 2014 was awarded to Dane Rowley.
The evening also saw Club Person of the Year going to Taryn Mokotupu who has provided great support, time and effort to the rugby club again this year.
A great highlight of the evening was guest speaker Joe Roff, who gave a very entertaining address to the crowd, was railroaded into a singing competition, and was able to celebrate his birthday with a surprise birthday cake and the entire Boorowa crowd singing him "Happy Birthday"! The Rugby Club are very grateful to Joe for contributing so generously to our Presentation Night.
Another highlight of the evening was Club President, and the night's MC, Justin Fleming performing an absolutely inspiring poetry reading, during which he held the entire crowd in the palm of his hand! Once again Justin was engaging and exceptionally witty in his role on the evening, and once again the entrepreneurs in the room were wondering why he hasn't made a full time business out of his abundant public speaking skills!
After the evening's formalities drew to a close, the well known local band 'The Phat Boys' entertained the crowd with what can only be described as a first class performance. It is assured that during one part of the night or another, each of the 100 guests were up on the dance floor soaking in the amps and atmosphere!
The evening was a huge success for the Club with a great night had by all.
