Boorowa golfers ventured over to Cloverleigh Golf Club last Sunday, July 6 hoping to bring home two trophies.
They did.
Boorowa played Binalong in the final round of the South West Small Club Pennants, needing to win onmly one of the five matches to take the pennant. Binalong took it right up to Boorowa and things looked grim but Roger Mason, with a 4/3 win, and Richard Hall, 7/6, saw Boorowa home.
Boorowa lost the round but did enough to come out on top over Binalong.
Rob Styles, Robert Dunwoodie and Tim Good suffered narrow losses, but winners are grinners.
Other members enjoying in the success were Craig Mason, Monica Good, Russ George and Daniel Bush.
Putting the cream on the cake, Boorowa also took out the interclub Stableford Competition, with 129 points from Binalong, 73, Bigga, 38, Cloverleigh, 30 and Canowindra, 20.
It is a great achievment for Boorowa to win bnoth sections of this competition, but more rewarding is the fact that we have not won the pennant for a very long time.
A Good winner
Tim Good played good, and won the Cliff Workman Trophy last Saturday, July 5, with a good score of 37 Stableford points. Tim was too good for Russell George, on 36 points.
Russell was runner up for a countback from the evergreen. Balls also went to Tony Walters and Ben Howell, on 33 points.
