Ladies took the opportunity to dress in costume from 1923-1932. A welcome to locals and guests including Gloria Schultz, Lawrence Balcomb and his wife Trish was extended from President Ruth Dainith, Robyn Coffee Wiradjuri Elder, Councillor Ray Walsh, representing Mayor Bill West and Della Toohey president of Morongla CWA.
Rev. John Croduce gave his blessing to the Conference before Gloria officially opened it. Lawrence Balcomb, who suffered a farm explosive accident in 2010, gave an account of his road to recovery, with the help of his wife Trish, four young daughters, his parents, family and wonderful friends and neighbours.
Greetings were brought from Oxley, Central Western and Hume Groups before the conference got underway. Boorowra doll in Moroccan dress was judged first and will go on to State Conference
A delicious lunch was served by host branch followed by entertainment from Josie Day, Norm and Chris Palazzi. Three branches, Young, Boorowra and Cowra, turning 90 years were honoured ninety patty cakes.
The SWG Project will be the Women's Refuge in Young and SWG Group's submissions for State Conference: Medical Research: Crohn's Disease. Primary Product is Beetroot and Country of Study is Sri Lanka.
Gloria took the chair for the elections, with Jenny Thompson, Milvale Branch elected as President, Carmen Gordon from the Boorowa branch re-elected as Secretary and Nicola Mitton, Grenfell Evening Brance re-elected as Treasurer.
The next council meeting and Christmas party is in Young at Blue Steel Cafe on December, 2.
