A case of the Blues for Crocs

The Blues reached the 215 run target set by the Crocs in just over 34 overs, losing only four wickets along the way.

At the conclusion of their 40 overs the Crocs finished 8-214 thanks in main to a fine 50 not out from Jamie Golden in the middle order and a 71 from a fill in player at the top of the order.

Lachlan O'Mara (21), AJ O'Mara (29), Joshua Carmody (10) and Tim Suttor (13) were the only other Crocs batters to reach double figures in the game.

The day started poorly for the Crocs who found themselves 2-35 after the early dismissal of James Green for eight and then Blake Anderson for seven.

Both wickets were taken by Luke Murphy who proved a real thorn in the side for the Crocs.

He also picked up the wickets of Lachlan O'Mara for 21 and another fill in player for a duck, finishing his bowling spell with 4-52 from eight overs.

Dave Wood 2-46, Henry Mitton 1-32 and Riley Edwards 1-26 were the other wicket takers for Grenfell.

Set 215 for victory the visitors went about the task in tradesman like fashion before opener Steven Walker was dismissed, bowled by Nicholas Dwyer for 14.

Fellow opener Dave Wood and Bailey Edwards progressed the score to 44 before Wood was dismissed, caught by Joshua Carmody off the bowling of Dwyer for 27.

Unfortunately for the Crocs this bought Henry Mitton to the middle. Mitton toyed with the Crocs bowling attack, smashing 124 not out from 91 balls.

His innings included 12 fours and eight sixes.

On a positive note for the Crocs attack the bowlers exceeded just two extras during the entire innings.

Dwyer finished his bowling stint of four overs with 2-17 with Josh Carmody picking up the other two Grenfell wickets finishing with 2-42 from eight overs.

This weekend the Crocs are on the road to ladder leaders Stockinbingal before their final game of the regular season, also away, against the Harden Hornets.

The Boorowa BIg Bottles had a better day in their match, cruising to victory against Murringo Mavericks at Cranfield Oval in Young.

After dismissing the Mavericks for just 81 runs in 27.3 overs the Big Bottles reached their run target two wickets down in just shy of 15 overs.

Best with the ball for Big Bottles were Jacob Kennedy with 3-18 with good support from Cameron Johnston 2-9, Will McGuiness 2-2, Murray Armour 1-0, Anthony Kennedy 1-13 and Ben Klose 1-6.

Will Stanley top scored with 34 not out with captain Brendan Shean finishing with 32.
