Boorowa residents have come out in force to roll up their sleeves and get vaccinated against COVID-19, with more than 80 per cent of the eligible population receiving their first dose.

The data, which goes by postcodes, shows between 80 and 89 per cent of the eligible 2174 residents have gotten their first jab of either Pfizer or AstraZeneca.
As of September 9, 40 to 49 per cent of residents are fully vaccinated.
The news comes as Boorowa, and the entirety of Hilltops Council's local government area, enjoy a little bit of extra freedom following the lifting of stay-at-home orders last Saturday morning for parts of regional NSW deemed low risk or with zero COVID cases for at least 14 days.
That freedom was shortlived for our neighbours to the south, with Yass Valley Council going back into a snap two-week lockdown after a positive coronavirus case was detected.
There have also been positive detections to fragments of the virus in the sewerage in Young and Harden, with Murrumbidgee Local Health District urging anyone who is concerned or has any symptoms, no matter how mild, to be tested.
The lifting of lockdown came as "mixed news" for Member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman, with some areas of her electorate still under stay-at-home orders.
In a statement late last week, she urged residents to continue to come out and get vaccinated.
"I want to stress that If you are not vaccinated - get vaccinated as soon as possible," Mrs Tuckerman said.
"I understand that many people are still holding a brand preference for vaccination but this is not ideal if it is not based on medical advice.
"I will continue to work with the Southern NSW Local Health District for an easy and accessible COVID-19 Vaccination Hub, as well as push the Federal Government for a greater supply of vaccines to the Goulburn electorate.
"Our community has continued to do the right thing, following the rules and getting vaccinated when eligible and appointments are available.
"Our current vaccination providers are delivering an excellent service and a local vaccination hub will support them and help to meet demand."
