Students Claudia Edwards, Amelia Hewitt, April Corcoran and Isabella-Rose Anderssen were all relatively happy with their efforts after sitting Standard English Paper 2.
"[It] wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I felt pretty confident leaving it," Ms Hewitt said.
"I thought the questions were pretty open ended... it was very subjective," Ms Anderssen said.

While there were some late nights and stress among the girls in the lead up to their final exams, Ms Anderssen said she actually enjoyed sitting through English Paper 1.
"At least for me personally, I found it really fun," she said.
"You won't find many students, who, the morning of an exam, can't wipe the smile off their face cause their excited for an exam, I never thought I'd say that."
Reflecting on life after the exams, all four girls have plans to head to university, with three of the students already receiving early entry.
And while offers can ease exam stress, BCS Principal Graham Jones said he hopes the students won't rest on their laurels.
"My advice would be, even if you've got early entry to university, still put in the time," Mr Jones said.
"It's such a small window of your life that you've got to do nothing but study, study, study, but you'll be rewarded at the back end when you get marks that reflect your true ability, not the fact that you've gotten into uni early and switched off... just keep your head down and keep going."
He said the school has prepared the students well for exams, including offering a one-on-one mentoring program with teachers throughout the year.
Now, it was all up to them.
"We assisted them as best we could based on their individual needs because they were such a small group," Mr Jones said.
"Even though it's going to be the hardest and most stressful month of your life, if you put in the work, it will be the most rewarding time as well but your results don't define you... there's many different opportunities out there for you after the HSC."
