The award-winning program offers low-cost ‘fall-safe’ physical activity options for older people in rural communities with trained volunteer instructors.
Almost 1100 people now take part in 118 tai chi, community exercise and aqua classes weekly across the District.
“The classes are ideal for people who have always thought about getting involved in gentle physical activity, but have never got around to doing it,” Health Promotion Coordinator Nazmul Ahasan said.
The ‘Staying Active and on your Feet’ booklet is also now available at www.activeandhealthy.nsw.gov.au
