Member for Riverina Michael McCormack has retained his seat with an easy win over his fellow candidates in the 2025 Federal Election over the weekend.
Mr McCormack had a 3.3 percent swing in his favour winning the two candidate preferred vote 63.01 percent to the Labor candidate Mark Jeffereies 36.99 percent.
Mr McCormack won by a margin of 25,131 votes with a total vote count of 60,846 an increase on the previous election where he had received 59.17 percent of the vote over the Labor candidate's 40.29 percent of the vote.
There was a 6.52 percent swing from Labor to Mr McCormack in first preference votes with the current member securing a total of 39,618 first preference votes compared to Mr Jeffreson with 17,506, Mark Craig from One Nation with 9,430, Independent Jenny Rolfe with 6,429, Independent James Gooden with 4,872, Pheonix Valxori for The Greens with 4,050, Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Desiree Gregory with 3,710, Richard Foley for the Citizen's Party with 2,208, Libertarian Christine Onley with 2,039, Marg Burge for Family First with 1,946, Hilltops Councillor running as an Independent, Jake Davis with 1,712, Independent Grant Hardwick with 1,706 and Independent Barbara Baikie with 1,614.
"Humbled to receive support from the Riverina electorate voters to continue to represent their interests in the Federal Parliament – an honour I have never taken for granted," Mr McCormack said.

At Boorowa Central School, Mr McCormack received 345 votes in their first election voting for Riverina, having come from Hume in the re-bordering of electorates last year.
Mark Jeffreson received 193 votes, Mark Craig 95, Desiree Gregory 46, James Gooden 44, Jenny Rolfe 38, Jake Davis 29, Pheonix Valxori 21, Christine Onley 21, Mark Burge 11, Barbara Baikie 9, Grant Hardwick 9 and Richard Foley 5.
Bigga Memorial Hall had 38 votes for Mr McCormack with 25 for Mark Craig, 14 for Mark Jeffreson, 6 for Desiree Gregory, 6 for Pheonix Valxori, 3 for Jenny Rolfe, 2 for Mark Burge, 2 for Barbara Baikie, 2 for Grant Hardwick, 2 for Christine Onley and one each for Jake Davis and James Gooden.
At Binalong Public School Mr McCormack received 82 votes, Mark Jeffreson 59, Mark Craig 25, Desiree Gregory 14, Pheonix Valxori 10, Jenny Rolfe 6, Christine Onley 6, James Gooden 5, Jake Davis 5, Barbara Baikie 3, Grant Hardwick 3, Mark Burge 2 and Richard Foley 0.
At Murrumburrah High School Mr McCormack received 169 votes, Mark Jeffreson 52, James Gooden 30, Mark Craig 29, Jake Davis 21, Desiree Gregory 8, Christine Onley 8, Grant Hardwick 7, Mark Burge 6, Pheonix Valxori 5, Jenny Rolfe 4, Richard Foley 3 and Barbara Baikie 2.
In Jugiong Mr McCormack received 71 votes, Mark Craig 18, Mark Jeffreson 15, James Gooden 13, Jenny Rolfe 8, Desiree Gregory 7, Barbara Baikie , Pheonix Valxori 3, Christine Onley 2, Richard Foley 1 with Mark Burge, Grant Hardwick and Jake Davis receiving zero votes.
At Koorawatha Public School Mr McCormack received 66 votes, Mark Jeffreson 19, Mark Craig 17, Christine Onley 8, Desiree Gregory 7, Mark Burge 5, Jenny Rolfe 5, Barbara Baikie 4, James Gooden 4, Jake Davis 3, Richard Foley 2, Pheonix Valxori 2 and Grant Hardwick 1.
In Murringo Mr McCormack received 53 votes, Mark Jeffreson 27, Mark Craig 26, Jenny Rolfe 10, Jake Davis 7, Christine Onley 7, Desiree Gregory 6, Pheonix Valxori 5, Mark Burge 2, Barbara Baikie 2, Richard Foley 2 with Grant Hardwick and James Gooden receiving no votes.
Mr McCormack had the top number of votes at Murrumburrah Public School with 219, Mark Jeffreson 109, Mark Craig 52, Jake Davis 39, James Gooden 29, Pheonix Valxori 21, Desiree Gregory 17, Christine Onley 11, Barbara Baikie 10, Jenny Rolfe 9, Mark Burge 5, Grant Hardwick and Richard Foley 3 each.
In Rye Park Mr McCormack had 49 votes, Mark Jeffreson 28, Mark Craig 20, Desiree Gregory 18, Jenny Rolfe 14, Barbara Baikie 5, Pheonix Valxori 5, Mark Burge 4, James Gooden 4, Christine Onley 4, Jake Davis 3 and Grant Hardwick and Richard Foley with one each.
At the Wombat Soldiers Memorial Hall Mr McCormack received 72 votes, Mark Jeffreson 13, Mark Craig 12, Desiree Gregory 9, Jake Davis 6, Jenny Rolfe 6, Mark Burge 3, Barbara Baikie 2, Pheonix Valxori 2, James Gooden 2, Richard Foley 1 and Grant Hardwick and Christine Onley with no votes.
Young Town Hall saw 410 votes for Mr McCormack with 194 for Mark Jeffreson, 156 for Mark Craig, 150 for Jake Davis, 55 for Jenny Rolfe, 53 for Desiree Gregory, 41 for Pheonix Valxori, 24 for Mark Burge, 21 for James Gooden, 18 for Barbara Baikie, 15 for Grant Hardwick, 15 for Christine Onley and 8 for Richard Foley.
Young North Public School had 105 for Mr McCormack, 41 for Mark Jeffreson, 38 for Mark Craig, 32 for Jake Davis, 20 for Pheonix Valxori, 18 for Desiree Gregory, 12 for Jenny Rolfe, 11 for Christine Onley, 5 for James Gooden, 4 for Mark Burge, 4 for Barbara Baikie, 2 for Richard Foley and one for Grant Hardwick.
Young Public School had Mr McCormack receive 137 votes, Mark Jeffreson 57, Mark Craig 30, Jake Davis 29, Desiree Gregory 16, Jenny Rolfe 13, Pheonix Valxori 11, Mark Burge 10, Richard Foley 7, Barbara Baikie 6, Christine Onley 6, James Gooden 4 and Grant Hardwick 2.
Young Pre Poll had the most votes out of the Hilltops with 2,678 votes for Mr McCormack, 972 for Mark Jeffreson, 688 for Jake Davis, 661 for Mark Craig, 226 for Jenny Rolfe, 197 for Desiree Gregory, 171 for James Gooden, 148 for Pheonix Valxori, 107 for Christine Onley, 75 for Mark Burge, 61 for Barbara Baikie, 35 for Richard Foley and 34 for Grant Hardwick.
