Boorowa residents now have access to a new healthcare facility with the opening of the Marsden Street Medical Centre on July 1, 2025.
This development comes after the closure of the previous practice in November 2024, which left the community without local general practitioner services for several months.
Dr Asitha Wickramaratne, known locally as Dr Wick, from Young is leading the practice and is very pleased with the opening of the new clinic as well as the way the community has supported the opening.
Dr Wick has said he has been very eager to resume providing care to both new and returning patients.
The reopening of the Marsden Street Medical Centre addressed a significant gap in local healthcare services with the new centre aiming to offer comprehensive general medical services in the newly renovated facility.
