This summer is the perfect chance to explore what your library has to offer to inspire your summer adventures.
As such the Hilltops Council Library is pleased to present Summer Reading at Hilltops, activities and events to support your summertime leisure.
The Hilltops Library and community partners are running a series of events and activities throughout the summer to promote reading for pleasure with the support of National Back Yard Cricket and the Learning for a Better World Trust, which seeks to support education in communities and level the playing field.
These activities include Drop-In Summer Sessions at the Hilltops Council Library branches in Boorowa, Harden or Young, the Hilltops Summer Reading Club and Hilltops.Read.Share.
The Hilltops Summer Reading Club is open to eligible primary school children who are able to participate by reading or listening to books.
Students need to record their reading time - solo reading, reading to or listening to someone or an audio book - and for each hour of reading time recorded an entry is put into the Summer Reading Prize Draw.
Hilltops.Read.Share is a social media campaign for residents over 13, who share a photo or post of what they are reading in a creative image, or a brief Book Review about the book/s they are reading.
If their photo or post appears on the Hilltops Council Library Facebook page, they'll be in the running for a drink voucher at selected Hilltops Cafes.
As well as these events residents should look out for their friendly library staff out and about at special pop-up Library events throughout the summer.
Don't miss out on the summer fun and take advantage of the benefits of Library membership.
Library members have access to the libraries collection both in physical formats and online through its e-collection and resources.
Drop in Summer Sessions at Boorowa will be held on:
