They are accessible to anyone.
National Parks and Wildlife, along with local councils, work tirelessly throughout the year to maintain trails and signage as well as providing information online and at various information centres about how to get to trails, how long the walks take and the level of difficulty (physically) each one presents.
Sadly though, it is with some increasing concern, that emergency services are responding more regularly to missing, injured bushwalkers and sometimes, tragically the retrieval of a person who has lost their life.
Operations often go well into the night, placing all concerned at greater risk to their own lives.
Whether it's just a pleasant walk or a full on adventure - mishap can and will happen if you aren't prepared.
