The Boorowa Gun Club has run the event since 2017 with the event becoming a major attraction in the Clay Target Shooting calendar each year since then.
The Boorowa Classic attracted competitors from all parts of NSW, as well as country Victoria and the ACT.
Some of Australia's Best Trap shooters including national and state representative shooters were in attendance.
There were 124 registered competitors for the events plus many more in attendance as spectators, which is a new record attendance for Boorowa Gun Club.
The unseasonal eastern states' big wet eased over the weekend, although it was still a little cold with a gusty breeze blowing most of the weekend making for some challenging shooting conditions.
The shoot was scheduled to start at 9am on Saturday morning and, with the help of plenty of volunteers both first thing in the morning and throughout both days, there were very few delays.
It is a credit to the club and to the shooters present over the weekend that everything ran so smoothly.
Squads were backing up and ready to go almost immediately with club members and visitors helping to keep the Traps filled and running smoothly.
All four traps were in operation enabling the club to cope well with the large number of squads.
The competitors were a mixed bunch, with many regulars as well as first time visitors to both the club and the region.
Some very positive feedback was received from many of the visitors, many of whom stated they would be returning in the future and bringing their friends.
This word-of-mouth advertising is a huge bonus to both the club and the wider regional community as visitors stay overnight and spend their money with local businesses.
The first event on Saturday was the 25 target Grand Handicap.
Two shooters managed a 25/25 in the trying conditions and after a short shoot off, Boorowa Gun Club member Chris Oehm came away with the first place prize.
Second place went to Lauren Love from Mudgee.
Three shooters managed a 24/25 and had to shoot off for third to fifth place, this meant that each of them was guaranteed a place.
Adam Reid took third, Christopher Brown came fourth and Peter Chryssovelonis came fifth.
The second event of the day was the 30 target Medley shot from 18 metres.
The Medley consists of 10 targets Double Barrel, 10 targets Single Barrel and 10 targets Point Score.

C Grade was won by Anthony Squillacioti with an event score of 40/50, second place went to local Boorowa shooter Xavier Thompson with a 37/50 making the podium on his very first competition with a very handy score.
The third event of the weekend and the last event for Saturday was the 30 target Double Barrel event.
Boorowa Gun Club has made the commitment over the last few years to shoot the Saturday Double Barrel event to completion without reverting to Point Score or similar.
There are very few opportunities at club level for shooters to attempt long breaks, the only opportunities are usually are at state carnivals or at the Nationals.
This has been very popular with the shooters and is certainly one draw card for the weekend.
