Her position in Boorowa is the first time she has been in a rural community, but Constable Whitney said she was excited to be here.
"It's been really good so far, everyone has been welcoming and accepting," she said.
"The community has wanted someone at the station for a while so it's good to be here, to be able to help out and be part of the community.
"It's a change of pace, but it's still keeping me busy which is good."
A Western Sydney native, she said she was looking forward to getting to know the community.
"I grew up in Western Sydney and lived in the Hawkesbury for the past three years," she said.
"So I'm looking forward getting to knowing the people who I'm talking to, rather than in Sydney where everyone is new.
"You never know anyone there, so it's good to build the connections and the rapport."
Constable Whitney said she was a well rounded in her training with a few issues already brought to her attention.
"In terms of work, I was at the Hills Police Area Command for my first four and a half years on the force," she said.
"Always based at the Hills, I did three years of general duties and then my last year and nine months in proactive.
"Drink driving has been one issue raised with me a few times. Obviously there not being a police officer in town for a while, people have gotten a bit lax.
"So I'm focusing on Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights, amongst all the others."
She said while she hoped to get out and about in a community role, residents were always welcome to come and talk to her.
"Hopefully we'll get to hold some community engagement days," she said.
"We do have one coming up next month with myself, Binalong and an officer from Harden where we'll be visiting all three towns.
"But the door's always open to the community."
