Rugby station set to be showcased this Ag Day

As lockdowns took their toll on events, most Ag Day celebrations for 2021 were cancelled for the second year running.

One of Southern NSW's best known Ag Day Events, the Regional Development Australia - Southern Inland (RDASI) Ag Day Thank You Dinner, was forced to cancel for the second year running, but they weren't prepared to give up altogether.

"It is so important to us that we celebrate their industry, and show our appreciation, particularly given they have dealt with so much over and above the staffing and logistical issues presented by COVID," RDASI CEO, Carisa Wells said.

"We needed to find an alternative."

As a result, RDASI created the short film, "For the Love of Ag", which will feature five different producers from across the area including Georgie Kelly.

Georgie is a sixth generation grazier and the livestock manager of Rugby Station, owned by her family.

Rugby Station produces free range, sustainable wool with a focus on long-term, regenerative farming management and practices.

The film also features Cressida Cains, 2020 AgriFutures Rural Women's Award NSW/ACT winner and national runner-up and co-founder of Pecora Dairy; Peter and Jack O'Connor from Oxton Park; Tim Kirk from Clonakilla Wines and John Mauger of Mauger's Meats.
