The Wagga Wagga COVID-19 Vaccination Hub will be deploying outreach support to offer the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccination in Deniliquin and Young from Monday, July 12 to Friday, July 16, with further dates to be announced.
The Pfizer Vaccine is the preferred vaccine for people up to the age of 59.
AstraZeneca is the preferred vaccine for people aged 60 years and older.
Anyone can check their eligibility and book online though the Australian Government website by visiting: https://www.health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/covid-19-vaccineeligibility-checker
It is necessary to book an appointment to obtain your vaccine.
This can be done easily via the Commonwealth Government website (above) or by calling the COVID Vaccination Support line on 1800 571 155.
MLHD reminds members of the public they can also obtain their vaccination through participating General Practices (GP).
When you register online for your vaccination, you can choose from a list of your closest vaccination providers.
With the introduction of new restrictions, MLHD is screening all visitors to hospital and health services facilities.
Visitors who have travelled to Greater Sydney in the last 14 days will be excluded from all MLHD facilities.
"Across NSW screening and mask wearing is an important line of defence and we are taking these measures to protect vulnerable people in our care and our staff," MLHD's COVID Coordinator Emma Field said.
"The situation with this latest strain of the COVID-19 virus is fast evolving and we ask our communities to continue to support the effort by maintaining COVID safety.
"We appeal to people to be especially vigilant with their COVID physical distancing, hand hygiene and mask wearing."
