A big crowd was entertained by the local teams who didn't disappoint.
In the first match, the Boorowa Roverettes were always in control after scoring in just the third minute.
They led 28-0 at the break and extended that to 32-0 when the game was stopped due to a serious injury requiring the ambulance to attend.
After a long break, both sides agreed to end the game given that the result was clearly a Roverettes win with just 17 minutes left.
For the Roverettes, everyone played their part and they certainly looked very slick under the guidance of new coach Byron Campbell.
Three points went to Claire Flick, two points to Amanda Noakes and one point to Grace Barker.
In other games Cootamundra 44 beat Binalong 0, Gunning 24 beat Burrangong 0, Harden 44 North Canberra 0 whilst Crookwell and Bungendore bucked the trend of nil scores with a 12-12 thrilling draw.
In the George Tooke Shield, Boorowa began in similar vain to the Roverettes pressing the Stars line early, but it was the visitors who drew first blood to go up 6-0.
It didn't take long before the Rovers levelled up after 10 minutes for a 6-6 scoreline.
Boorowa scored tries in the 16th and 25th minutes to lead 16-6 before the fleet of foot Austin Power raced in the Rovers fourth try and a 20-6 lead.
On the stroke of halftime, the Stars crossed to close the gap to 20-10 at the break.
The Rovers slowly began to assert their dominance in the second half scoring two tries to lead 30-10 with 17 minutes left.
In the last ten minutes, the Stars threw caution to the wind trying to bridge the ten-point gap, but the Rovers held firm to take the two points for the win.
There wasn't a bad player on the field for the Rovers with Tom Carnell paving the way in the forwards.
The backline looked impressive and are going to give plenty of sides a headache this season.
The elusive Jayden Cutting was impressive as was fullback Austin Power.
Nick Stephens is a welcome addition to the backline whilst Tyler Blair was solid on the wing.
For the Rovers, Tom Carnell got 3 Points, Jayden Cutting 2 Points and Nick Stephens 1 point.
In other games Boomanulla 76 hammered Burrangong 6, Cootamundra 22 Beat Binalong 18, North Canberra 38 beat Harden 18 and Bungendore 34 beat Crookwell 10.
This week both teams go up against old rivals Crookwell at the Boorowa Showground on Saturday in what is always a hard-fought contest.
The Roverettes looked the goods last Saturday but will be tested by Crookwell looking for a win after last week's draw.
In the George Tooke Shield, the Rovers are in for a tough battle but should be up to the task against Crookwell who are keen to get their first competition points of the season.
If the Rovers forwards can match Crookwell, Boorowa certainly has the talent in the backline to do the rest.
It promises to be another fine day on Saturday so why not head to the sporting hub of Boorowa at the showground to support our league teams.
Roverettes kick off at 1.15pm whilst the George Tooke gets underway at 2.30pm.
See you at the league.
