Boorowa residents Kerry Edwards and Pierre Mears are set to lose their locks for a very worthy cause.

The pair will take part in the World's Greatest Shave to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation on Friday, March 12.

Kerry's shave will be at the Boorowa Early Education Centre, while Pierre will take on the razor at the Boorowa Ex-Services Club.

Both Kerry and Pierre have smashed their fundraising goals, raising more than $4800 combined so far.

Kerry said she decided to take part in the fundraiser in honour of relatives she has lost to cancer.

"I have wanted to join in with the Greatest Shave for many years but honestly haven't been brave enough until now," she said.

"I have lost my Pop, my wonderful Dad, my father in law and many other special people who didn't deserve to be taken from their loved ones, due to this horrid thing called Cancer.

"So no more excuses, here I go."
