If you live near Reid's Flat and felt or heard a bit of a rattle on Sunday night, there's a good explanation.
A small, shallow earthquake with a magnitude of 2.4 was recorded by seismographer Kevin McCue.
The earthquake occurred at 1.14am and Mr McCue said it "may have been strong enough to awaken light sleepers in Reid's Flat".
"If you were awake, you would have felt rattling, the windows or crockery would have rattled," he said.
The earthquake was recordedat Dubbo, Sydney and on a number of seismographs in Canberra as well.
"The location about 1km north of Reid's Flat is well constrained," Mr McCue said.
It was the largest of 38 earthquakes that occurred in southeastern Australia last week, according to the Seismology Centre.
