Man injures hand in workplace accident at wind farm

A man's hand has been severed in a workplace accident at a wind farm near Boorowa.
About 4.30pm on Thursday, February 4 emergency services responded to a wind farm at Kangiara after reports of the incident.
NSW Ambulance said there were three road crews on scene and also a TOLL rescue helicopter.
According to police, a contractor working at the site was cleaning a concrete pumping truck when the main pump activated and severed his hand.
The injured man, a man in his 30s from Cobden, Victoria, was immediately assisted by on-site paramedics before emergency services arrived at the Lachlan Valley Way work site.
He was airlifted to Royal North Shore hospital in Sydney for treatment in a serious but stable condition
SafeWork NSW is now investigating the workplace incident.
