The Boorowa Show Society made the announcement on Tuesday via social media, noting that while some sections will go ahead, no general public will be encouraged to attend.
President Louise Baer said it was not an easy decision to make.
"This decision has not been made without much deliberation, as the committee originally decided to hold the show when such events were given the go ahead by the NSW Government in December," she said.
"To date, the committee had planned many aspects of our show in a short time frame, with modifications and new concepts to best manage the strict regulations with which we have to comply.
"Unfortunately, the difficulties of finding the large number of committed volunteers to comply with the restrictions, and their concerns if any breach were to occur, became insurmountable for our committee and the volunteers."
Mrs Baer thanked the community and those involved with the show for their continued support.
"We make apologies to the many people who are always such positive supporters of the Boorowa Show, especially during the past weeks," she said.
"We really did try, and thank you most sincerely! These wonderful people have engaged with us on social media, paid sponsorships, booked commercial sites and encouraged others to enter their livestock, produce and goods.
"They are locals and people from further afield. Thank you for your continued support."

At the present time, the following sections will be held as part of the modified 2021 Boorowa Show. These may be subject to change at any time:

- Flock Ewe Competition: Friday, February 19
- Championship Dog Show: Friday, March 5 at Boorowa Showground
- Alpaca competition: Saturday, March 6 to Sunday, March 7 at Boorowa Showground
"The President and committee of the Boorowa Show Society Inc hope that you understand our decision, and we look forward to seeing you at our show in 2022," Mrs Baer said.
