But then again, 2020 was no normal year.
We take a look back at March and April this week, when things truly began to unravel in the sporting world:
March
John Crowe's service to Boorowa bowls honoured
A function was held to honour the work done by long term President of the bowls club John Crowe.
In a fitting tribute, the green was named "The John Crowe Green".
Crocs lack bite in A Grade semi-final
Sadly the beginning of March brought Boorowa's cricketing hopes to an end, with the Crocs bowing out of the premiership at the hands of the Dalton Dingoes.
The Dingoes defeated the Crocs by a convincing 51 runs when their bowlers ripped the heart out of the Boorowa batting line up after Boorowa had set themselves for a reasonable run chase.
It was the first time a Boorowa team had competed in the A grade semis for several years.
Boorowa Central School takes out South West Open League Tag Carnival
A very talented group of girls from Boorowa Central School took out the South West Open League Tag Carnival in March.
Despite having just 35 girls to pick from in secondary school, Boorowa overcame much greater sized opposition in Young's Hennessy Catholic College and Sacred Heart Cootamundra in the preliminary rounds before defeating Junee High School in the decider.

Archie Coble was Intermediate Boys runner up and Noah Coble came 3rd overall in the Senior Boys championships.
Boorowa's 2020 XV's Beer and Rugby Festival Gala Day cancelled
The first victim of the coronavirus pandemic was Boorowa's 2020 XV's Beer and Rugby Festival Gala Day.
Boorowa Rugby President, Justin Fleming, said the club had made the decision to cancel the event prior to an announcement from Rugby Australia and the Member Unions regarding the cancellations of all training and events until May 1.
"We decided it would be irresponsible of us to have it (the gala day) and so we decided early to cancel it," he said.
Boorowa Picnic Races postponed due to coronavirus concerns
The annual Boorowa Picnic Races, which was scheduled for May 2, was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns.
Tom Kelly, President of Boorowa Race Club said, "Our race meet is just over six weeks away and it's very clear to us it will not be possible for the event to take place. Public health must come first".
Cancellation after cancellation as COVID-19 restrictions hit Boorowa
It seemed the dominoes were falling with bowls, basketball, swimming, rugby league, gun club and darts all announcing cancellations or postponements to their respective 2020 seasons and events
April
